Do you need help writing a book about yourself or something that you specialise in? Do you have a compelling story to tell but no time or experience to write it? Perhaps you're looking for a ghostwriter or even a co-writer.
Ghostwriting is a completely confidential and collaborative act. You take part in how the story unfolds with the guidance of an experienced writer who will not only write and structure the story but make sure it’s done in a timely fashion. Your name appears on the book, and no one will know that I wrote it! Alternatively, there are opportunities for co-writing, where credit is attributed to the both of us.
Why choose me?
My past experience includes writing fiction and non-fiction for Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and private clients. I would be happy to assist individuals or publishers on special book length projects. I also have a natural talent for listening and synthesizing information. I enjoy interacting with people from all walks of life, learning extensively about their lives and what they are passionate about. Lastly, I have proven experience completing work within a tight deadline.
How the process works
When writing a book, the first few weeks of our time involves recorded interviews to establish your unique voice and to gather as much information as possible. I supplement these recordings with any written materials or notes you may have. Afterward, I get to work, periodically sharing with you sections of the manuscript for your input and guidance. Research might also be involved depending on the subject matter.
Submission to agents or publishers
I am more than happy to help submit your book to agents or publishers, if the project is commercially viable. Self-publishing, of course, is also another avenue to consider. The book may go through an external copy editor and proofreader before submission to make sure it's in tip-top shape. The cost of these services will be included in the total fee.
How much does the process cost?
This is subject to a variety of factors including word count, time restrictions and the nature of the work. I am happy to discuss your budget during a consultation.
What else do I need to know?
Contracts are usually drafted and signed by both parties before works commence. The document will illustrate a clear agreement as well as expectations of the project. Content will include details such as ownership/intellectual property rights and agreed date of completion.
